Available in store
CloseHeld annually in the summer, this event highlights the importance of supporting local flower farmers and appreciating the unique varieties that flourish across Canada's diverse climates. From the iconic maple leaf to lesser-known regional blossoms like the Atlantic lupine or the Prairie crocus, Canadian Flowers Week encourages people to explore and incorporate native flora into their lives. It also serves as a reminder of the environmental benefits of choosing locally-grown flowers, such as reducing carbon footprints and promoting biodiversity. Whether through floral arrangements, garden tours, or educational workshops, Canadian Flowers Week inspires a deeper connection to nature and an appreciation for the artistry and sustainability of homegrown blooms.
At H&H we celebrate Canadian Flowers Week with a floral urn centrepiece workshop. In a typical workshop, participants have the opportunity to learn about the principles of floral design, including colour theory, balance, and texture. The workshop begins with a demonstration by an experienced florist, who guides attendees through the process of arranging flowers in an urn-style container. Participants are then encouraged to select from a variety of seasonal blooms and foliage, allowing them to personalize their creations. Throughout the session, tips and tricks for maintaining floral arrangements are shared, ensuring that the centrepieces remain fresh and vibrant for as long as possible. By the end of the workshop, attendees not only leave with a stunning centrepiece but also with newfound skills and inspiration to continue exploring the art of floral design.
As a workshop attendee you will be invited to choose from a selection of refreshing drinks that highlight seasonal ingredients. Complemented with a menu of light finger foods like Farmer’s Daughter cheese platters, garden plot vegetables and homemade gelato. With these elements in place, our guests are sure to enjoy a memorable time amidst the natural charm of the apple orchard at Junction.
